Semax (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) is a synthetic heptapeptide combining the ACTH(4-7) fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension that confers resistance to enzymatic degradation. It is used in animal-model research on neurotrophin signaling and cerebral ischemia.
